Padua College hosted the Teen Chef Competition on June 24. Students in Years 9-11 competed in sweet and savoury categories with a citrus theme. Judges, including Principal Kelly McGurn and industry professionals, Fiona Hammond (Food Columnist, Recipe Developer and Stylist) and Michael Robinson (Chef and teacher at Chisholm TAFE) faced tough decisions due to the high calibre of entries.

Winning dishes included Salmon Soba Noodles with Ginger Lemon Dressing by Osten Mulcahey and Nic Geslicki, and Lime Stack dessert by Zoe Smith and Leila Binder.

The runners-up were Charlie Waugh and Georgia Hughes with Crispy Chicken Mojo Tacos, and Esther McAdam and Charlotte Crawford with Orange and Poppy Seed Cake.

Congratulations to all participants. The winners will advance to the SIS Teen Chef competition in August to compete against other schools in the region. A fantastic effort by all involved.
