Student Achievement

Izzy Torrington
Year 9 Frayne House

The Padua College community congratulates Year 9 student Izzy Torrington on her recent achievement at the International Youth Hockey Championship in Perth. Izzy, at just 14 years old, was the youngest competitor in the U16s, playing for the select Melbourne Team BCA. She scored the winning goal in their final game, helping her team finish sixth out of 12 teams.

Izzy's journey with hockey began when the Mornington Peninsula Hockey Club (Falcons) held workshops at her primary school. She has since been selected for the U16s VIC State Academy. This year, Izzy made her debut in the Women’s Senior V1 League with the Mornington Peninsula Falcons Club, where she was the youngest player and participated in every game of the season. Additionally, at the U16s State Championship (JSC) during the June school holidays, she was the second-highest goal scorer, netting nine goals for the Southern Sharks in the metro rep side.

Well done, Izzy!
