STEPHEN VENERIS
DEPUTY PRINCIPAL | HEAD OF THE YEAR 7-9 CAMPUS
Term four has begun with much excitement for the Year 7-9 Campus as the focus turns to preparations for 2024 and our move into the new Year 7 & 8 Building! Our current Year 9 students have enjoyed outings to Willum Warrain Aboriginal Association, Polperro Dolphin Dives, and an incursion from the Marine Mammal Foundation, and they have already had their first Transition Day in readiness for the move into the Senior Campus and our Year 7 and Year 8 students will be busily working through and finalising assessments and tasks prior to our Headstart Program which commences 20 November.
Year 9 Focus Week
Year 9 Focus Weeks will take place over the coming weeks, please ensure you have carefully read the information from Mr De Fazio and the Aspire9 Team. The format for term four is:
Camp - Australian and Mercy Community – Red and Blue Houses
Tertiary Tasters & City Experience - Modern Church and Franciscan Community – Gold and Green Houses
We are indeed fortunate to be able to offer our young people these magnificent opportunities and in anticipation, I offer sincere thanks to all our teachers for their involvement, especially those teachers who attend the overnight camps and give up precious time with their own families. We look forward to hearing about the experiences gained over the course of the week and the friendships strengthened.
Term Four
As we move through to the next few weeks of term, I would like to wish the Year 12 students all the very best as the VCE students complete exams and the VCE VM students finish off final assessment tasks. I also remind students in the 7-9 Campus that while the Year 12 students may be finished formal lessons, the students in the 7-9 Campus still have much to achieve both in 2023 but also in the years ahead at Padua so please keep in mind that while Year 12 students are reaching the completion of their studies, there is still much for us to do, this year and beyond.
Later this term we will have appropriate opportunities to celebrate and acknowledge all the amazing achievements of our students on the Year 7-9 Campus.
I wish you all continued blessings.
