After training all year, Mornington Junior teams - The Mornington Waves and the Beach Barbies rose to the occasion and placed fifth and second against the best teams in Australia. Congratulations to: Laura Howard (Year 8 Sebastian), Angelique Le Roux (Year 8 Sebastian), Emerson McIvor (Year 8 Romero), Liv Natoli (Year 8 Kolbe), Evie Pfister (Year 9 Frayne), Indy Pijpstra (Year 9 Romero), Annie Rogers (Year 8 Kolbe), Chloe Sayers (Romero Year 9), Sarah Taranto (Year 8 Kolbe) and Amelie van Wijngaarden (Year 8 Kolbe).
Congratulations to all students who represented the College in both the cross country and athletics, again achieving SIS victory in both carnivals. Congratulations also to Mr Terry Luppino, Mr Emilio Di Poalo and Ms Anna Whittaker who led the respective teams.
Congratulations to all the Year 9 and Year 10 girls involved in the winning team comprised of players from each of the four Campuses, but particular congratulations to Ava Masterson, Year 9 Assisi.
Our Year 9s are undertaking a short course in a diverse range of subjects including Animal Studies, Outdoor Recreation, STEM, Fitness Pro, and Our Unique Brain.
Thank you to all staff and families who helped to ensure the success of this important orientation process with the first step into Padua for the Class of 2029 now complete.
Well done to the Senior CAP students and Mr Matthew Williams (VP- Mission Identity, Community) for organising a very successful and fun night for staff, students and families, as well as raising funds for St Vinnies. Well done also to the Quiz Masters, Mr Emilio Di Paolo and Mr Sam Wright for a successful night.
Please be aware that we have had a number of concerns raised by members of the community in regard to students not crossing at the traffic lights at Oakbank Road and students crossing at the corner of Tower Road and Nepean Hwy. Please discuss with your sons and daughters their safe movement to and from the College. We will also raise this at school at upcoming student assemblies.
A reminder that the summer uniform can be worn from 1 September. Winter uniforms can also continue to be worn but cannot be worn with summer uniform items (no mixing and matching please). Can I also please remind all students and families in regards to our uniform expectations, in particular, blazers need to be worn to school (including homeroom) and from school, piercings (one per ear lobe), NO nose piercings , hair tied back and for some of our Year 9 boys the day is nearing where you will need to commence shaving as facial hair is not permitted.
Thank you all for your support,
God Bless.

Best: Team Effort
The Padua Blue Year 8 team continued their unbeaten run with a comprehensive victory over Casey played in perfect conditions on our home turf. With every boy playing their part and our boys sharing the ball around beautifully, all the momentum was quickly in our favour as we banged on ten goals in a blistering first quarter. The highlight came in the last quarter when debutant, Oli Williams kicked his first goal for the Blues with a wonderful snap over his left shoulder when under extreme pressure. Oli’s efforts were well and truly worthy of the guard of honour afforded to him after the game. Again, the spirit of which our boys played the game drew praise from the Casey coaching staff which is really pleasing. The boys have been a pleasure to coach and their efforts at training have been amazing. We can now get excited about the opportunity of proceeding through the Carnival undefeated when we tackle St Francis Xavier Officer in our last game.
Padua Gold 3.3.21 defeated by John Paul College Frankston 8.14.62
After being slow out of the blocks, the Year 8 Gold team took it up to a quality side in John Paul College eventually going down by 41 points. Our boys brought their best effort and to their credit fought the game out to the very end. With a rotation system in place between both of our two teams, our boys took a little while to gel, but once they ‘clicked’ they played some outstanding football.
Best: Jude Shannon, Linc Somdecerff, Max Ritchie, Lachie French, Koby Binyon, Angus Abschinski, Brodie Dudley.

Our Technology Department is seeking broken skateboard decks and surfboard resin run off that can be repurposed by our Year 9 Jewellery students to create a series of ‘upcycled’ jewellery.
Skateboard decks made from coloured and stacked wood, can be turned into stylish and vibrant pieces of jewellery (pictured below) when cut and shaped. The Year 9 Jewellery students also upcycle the waste polyester resin caught while laminating a surfboard, which is usually sent to landfills. The students use these leftovers to cut out shapes and style them into jewellery with bright swirls of colours.
If any families in the community make custom surfboards or know of people who do, we would be grateful if you could email Vicky in our Technology Department, vronchi@padua.vic.edu.au
Donations of broken skateboards would be gratefully accepted by our Wood Technology teachers.
