The cross-country carnival at Mornington Padua was a fantastic event! We saw enthusiastic participation from students of all year levels from 7-12. It was inspiring to see students cheering each other on and pushing themselves to excel. Congratulations to all the participants! Those who secured a spot in the Top 10 will advance to the inter-house carnival. We're eagerly looking forward to seeing their performances in the upcoming rounds.

The cross-country carnival at Tyabb Padua was a great success! It was amazing to see so many students trying their best and giving it their all. Students cheering on others, encouraging friends, and most importantly having fun is what cross country is all about! All the students that came in the top 10 in their race will go on to compete in interhouse cross country in Week 4. Good luck!

On Tuesday 7 May, we had our intercampus cross country. Intercampus cross country is when the top 10 fastest people from each campus in each category face off. It is a great opportunity to run against students from other campuses and to make new friends. It was held at Padua Tyabb. We left Mornington at the start of recess and caught the bus to Tyabb. The course was very hard as most of it was on grass, which made it very hard to run on. There were lots of teachers telling you where to go, which made it less confusing. The 10 fastest runners from each age group (boys and girls) make the Padua SIS team. I had lots of fun and can't wait to represent Padua in the SIS cross country on Tuesday 21st May.

SIS cross country was held on Tuesday 21 May at Casey Fields Athletics Track. Padua again put on an amazing performance winning the carnival for the 36th year in a row. The conditions were perfect for cross country and the 3km course was fast and flat. There were many great performances from all age groups and lots of support and encouragement on the course from everyone. Thank you to Mr Luppino, Mr Tyrrell, Ms de Longville, Mr Morgan, Mrs. Love, Holly, Ms. Bradbury, Ms. Furness, Ms. Marshall and all the other staff members for their time and dedication in helping with training and cross-country camp.
Go Padua!!

On 23 April Padua College competed in the Southern Independent Schools Swimming Carnival. Staff as well as students who competed departed Padua at 7:30am to travel to MSAC in Albert Park where the SIS competition was held. The day brought perfect weather, encouragement and comradery and success to both Padua staff and students involved with the swimming.
We are proud to say that Padua finished nearly 100 points ahead in our division competing against schools like St Francis Xavier, Flinders College, John Paul College, Balcombe Grammar, Woodleigh School and St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar in which we commend their efforts as they did not make it easy for us
Padua now holds the SIS title for 33 years since Padua first competed in SIS Swimming Sports in 1988 taking home the Junior, intermediate and Senior shields and claiming 10 out of the 14 pennants, which took a tremendous effort from all swimmers
Padua has many talented swimmers in all year levels, winning the SIS Swimming Shield for Junior, Intermediate and Senior age groups.
We would also like to congratulate those swimmers selected based on the fastest times in their age group for a given stroke who are selected to represent Southern Independent Schools (SIS) at the next level at the Victorian Swimming event on Monday the 6th of May:
Ava Rogers
Callum Rossetto
Charlotte Snow
Logan Shelley
Mackenzie Rile
Madeleine Anderson
Milla Skehan
Oscar Skehan
Thomas McGough
A huge thank you to all Padua staff involved in the organising of the SIS Swim Carnival, including Ms Love, Ms Debnam, Mr Morgan, Ms. de Longville, Ms Romeril and Mr. Tranter who were all there to support us. And off course, thank you to Shuggy for all of his efforts and time spent dedicated to analysing the combinations and times to allocate Padua swimmers to their events to help Padua win the SIS competition.
Congratulations to all Padua swimmers and to the emergency swimmers and supporters, as we couldn’t have done it without you.
Lucas Parrish and Candace Walker
On Friday the 3rd of May, seven surfers across the campuses were selected to represent Padua in the SIS school surfing competition. It was a success with our team making it through the first round and into the finals, before finishing fourth overall out of eight schools. It was a great experience and everyone involved made a great effort.

This term at Padua Tyabb I played for the Year 8 boys soccer team, We would go out every Thursday from period 3 to period 5 and play soccer against different schools around the surrounding suburbs. I really enjoyed learning a bit about soccer and making new friends.

This term in SIS sport I had the privilege to participate in netball. My team and I would compete against other schools for victory. I played for the C team and competed against many hard challenges, we won some, lost some, and socialised with different people. Some of my teammates and I now know most rules in netball and have developed many new skills as we had never touched a netball before. SIS has made me more aware of all new and different opportunities and made me want to begin a new journey of doing what I love.

Well done to our Padua College Aerobics teams!
Our Junior (Year 7) team, Padua Storm, coached by Paige McIvor (Year 12) and Ms Tiff Hagart, finished first out of 17 senior and junior teams in their division and made it through to the National Championship in Adelaide in August.
The Rosebud Rosies (Year 9), coached by Ms Tashara Bampton, finished fourth in the same division and also made it through to the National Championships.
Our senior team (Years 9 & 10) Padua Thunder, coached by Ms Cassie Collier, Lucy Seletto (Year 12) and Lily Taylor (Year 12) finished fourth in their division and will also be competing in Adelaide in August.
While Padua Power, our junior (Year 7 & 8) team, coached by Ms Jessie Young and Laura Howard (Year 9), didn’t make it through to Nationals, they performed beautifully on the day, and we congratulate them all on their incredible effort.
In Term 2 our Year 8 Junior SIS netball team had ups and downs. We versed teams from all around the Peninsula. These schools challenged our skills, and we finished the rounds with 2 wins and 2 losses. Our game against our fellow Padua Tyabb team was a very close one, however, we went home victorious with a win of 15 to 9 goals. We would like to thank our coaches Miss Cheers and Miss Galbraith.

It has been amazing to see the Intermediate Boys Football team, coached by Mr Pat Janes, Assistant Head of 10-12 Campus, and Mr Sam Wright, Vice Principal Students, play with such energy, passion and more importantly pride in the Padua College jumper each week at SIS matches.
Recently, the team was scheduled to play in the SIS final against John Paul College, Frankston the day before Padua Day, so the challenge was sent to the team ‘No Padua Day no play'. Padua Day is one of the most significant events in the College calendar and a way in which we come together as a community to celebrate our foundation, identity and, more importantly, celebrate pride in our wonderful school.
This was the rationale for the decision, to instill in our group of enthusiastic footballers we are part of a bigger picture and all we do as a community is for their development and growth. It is not a cafeteria that you select what part of the rules, policies or procedures you wish to support and what part you choose not too.
Everyone was present for Padua Day and we won the final the very next day.
