Students proudly represented the College at ANZAC Day Services across the Mornington and Westernport Peninsula.
Congratulations to Mrs Nicole Love, Mr Emilio Di Paolo, Ms Jen de Longville and all staff involved in the successful SIS Swimming Competition. Padua College students again won this competition convincingly this year, having won 27 times in the last 30 years! Students and staff have been involved in many hours of before-school training and their dedication has certainly paid off – well done to the Padua Dolphins!
Last week all Year 9 students from all three campuses were involved in Aspire9 Camps; either a five-day Outdoor Education camp or a three-day City Experience Camp along with two days involved in Tertiary Tasters. There is a tremendous organisation required for these camps to proceed along with the dedication of a number of staff to attend to ensure our students can have these amazing experiences. I would particularly like to thank our Director of Aspire9, Mr Mark De Fazio, and Campus Aspire9 Co-ordinators: Mrs Charlene Smith, Mrs Andrea Cummins and Ms Chelsea Holmes, along with all staff involved for their work to ensure the success of these educational opportunities. Thanks also to Ms Rebecca Seal for her support in the organisation of these camps.
After-hours school tours have taken place at all three campuses recently as enrolments for Year 7 2025 close 31 May. My thanks to the enrolments team: Emily McDougall, Lisa Jordan and Rachael McIvor, for arranging and attending all three of these tour sessions.
I would also like to thank the student leaders who acted as tour guides for these tours and impressed our visiting families!

Semester One Exams commence for Year 10 and Year 11 students on Monday 29 May with all students across the College commencing semester two on Tuesday 13 June, this is prior to the end of term two which concludes on Friday 23 June.
The practice General Assessment Test (GAT) was held last week to prepare all students undertaking a Unit 3/4 subject and all Year VCAL students for the GAT to be held on 15 June.
I would like to take this opportunity to commend our students on their efforts towards their studies to date and encourage them to reflect on the advice of their teachers in best preparing for the upcoming exams and GAT.
We are looking forward to a very special Padua Day this year on Friday 9 June, marking Padua’s 125th anniversary. Staff and students from all campuses will gather at the Mornington Campus for Mass, celebrated by Bishop Tony Ireland and we will also enjoy a presentation from a very special guest. There will be a number of activities for students to participate in, it promises to be a wonderful day.
Rehearsals are continuing each week for the cast and crew of our 2023 College Production. This will be the first school production to be held in our own St Clare Performing Arts Centre and performances will be held early in term 3. Please check your inbox for cast and ticket sales infromation.
We also share in the sadness of members of our College staff who have lost family members recently and keep in our prayers:
Mr Phil Davis, former Padua College staff member;
Mrs Leonie Veale Mornington Campus, on the passing of her father, Don;
Ms Bernie Devlin, Mornington Campus, on the passing of her mother, Ellish;
Ms Julie Young Mornington Campus, on the passing of her father, Maurice.
We also remember others in our community who have lost loved ones during this time.
Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.
Peace and blessings.
We praise you St Anthony of Padua
because you followed Christ
by living your life in service and prayer,
help us so that we too
may learn to trust in the providence of the Father
who never fails us,
and to accept the divine will in all serenity.
St Anthony of Padua, Prayer for us.
Amen.
