STEPHEN VENERIS

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL | HEAD OF THE YEAR 7-9 CAMPUS

Our first few weeks back were filled with energy and action with all our students getting to know each other in their new classes and their new teachers. School photos, the Opening Mass, a House Welcome Evening, the Aspire9 Launch and our House swimming carnival are just a few of the events that have already taken place.

Well done to Mr Egan and Sebastian House on winning the Mornington Junior Campus Swimming Carnival.

Your sons and daughters will likely have been enjoying the Mornington 7-9 Campus sports precinct with the shade sail that was installed late last year. Our St Clare Performing Arts Centre is also fully operational for the start of this year and now we have great excitement as we see the new Year 7 and 8 Learning Centre rising out of the ground.

In 2023 we continue to develop the concept of ‘The Village’ which articulates the idea that “it takes a village to raise a child”. In this spirit, I encourage all parents and guardians to please feel confident that you can contact your child’s Homeroom Teacher and then perhaps House Co-ordinator should you have any queries or concerns.

Staff

New to the Leadership Team on the Mornington 7-9 Campus in 2023 are:

Mr Andrew Ferguson - Assistant Head of Campus, Learning & Pedagogy

Mrs Josie Luppino - Romero House Coordinator

Mrs Beth Meades & Mrs Kelscha Hutchinson - Assisi House Co-ordinators

I welcome all students and families who are new to the College and look forward to working with you over the years ahead. The Assistant Heads of Campus, House Co-ordinator team and Homeroom Teachers and I, will continue to provide support for your sons and daughters in the year ahead on their learning journey.

Uniform

Could parents please be aware that in 2023 the phasing OUT of the polar fleece and white polo PE top is now complete on the Mornington Junior Campus. These items of uniform are no longer part of the college uniform. Thank you in anticipation for your support with this update to student presentation.

Our College theme for our 125th Anniversary Year is the College Motto: “Perseverance Conquers All”. Our motto links in beautifully with the College ideal of our North Star. We want every person to:

Recognise and utilise their God given talents;

Be the best they can be; and

Make a positive impact on their world.

My sincere hope and prayer, is that, each child in the Mornington 7-9 Campus is able to aim for their North Star and make a positive impact on their world in 2023.

Wishing you all continued blessings.
